Measurement methods:

1. Before starting the sphygmomanometer, check it first. A sphygmomanometer that can be used normally has the dial pointing at the "0" position, and it reacts flexibly after pressure and can still return to the "0" position.

2. Ask the subject to sit at the table, place his left arm gently on the table, and maintain a very comfortable posture.

3. Adjust the arm to be at the same height as the heart. If the height is not enough, add soft cushion under the arm.

4. Flatten the armband so that the middle of the air belt faces the brachial artery, and the lower edge of the armband reaches 2 to 3 cm above the cubital fossa. Tie it to the upper arm. It should not be too tight or too loose. Generally, two fingers should be inserted under the sleeve. It is appropriate to avoid affecting the correctness.

5. Insert the ear of the stethoscope into the armband and place it on the brachial artery of the elbow.

6. Use the latex ball to pump slowly into the armband, and pay attention to monitoring. When the brachial artery pulsation disappears, increase the pressure by 2.5kPa-4kPa (20mmHg-30mmHg) to stop pumping.

7. After the pressurization stops, slowly release the air in the armband at a speed of 0.3kPa-0.6kPa (2mmHg-4mmHg) per second, so that the sphygmomanometer pointer will gradually drop.

8. In the process of descending, the pressure value shown by the hand of the watch when the first beating sound heard through the stethoscope is the systolic pressure.

9. When the pulsating sound turns into a murmur after gradually increasing, the tone suddenly becomes dull and gradually disappears. When no sound is heard, it is the diastolic blood pressure.

 

 

Note:
*When measuring blood pressure, it should generally be repeated 2 to 3 times, and the obtained readings are averaged as the blood pressure value.
